Patio gardening

Making the most of my given space in my apartment, here is my patio garden, taken last weekend. I face nearly due north, so I do the best I can with shade plants. The enclosure at left is for my two box turtles that I’ve had since growing up in Los Angeles, when I was in junior high school in the early 80s. In my landscaping, I’ve made a point of doing proper “layering” using pots positioned in a “stadium-seating” setup. It’s worked out well this year so far.
