Mushrooms and fungi are beautiful

Nature is amazing, that’s what every gardeners knows. All the fungi and mushrooms below are growing on my four acre woodland plot and I photographed them in an hour.

Not everyone finds these types of plants beautiful, but I’m transfixed by them. What we’re seeing is the fruiting body of the organism. Underground is a mycelium network feeding on different decomposing organisms. Each one has a different color, shape and texture.

Never eat one unless an expert says it’s alright. I use this local club, sending them a picture to confirm a mushroom is edible.

Many people have questions about what to do when they find a mushroom in their yard. Here’s one way to deal with them.

Let me know what you think of the photos.
