There’s a change in the garden, the angle of the sun is lower and it filters through the trees to illuminate our treasured plants.

It’s early in the morning and late in the afternoon when the difference is easiest to see. The plants don’t look the same and it’s a great time to explore with a camera.

The changing look of the garden is an ominous prelude to winter.

Here’s Everybody Gardens editor Doug Oster’s look at his garden as the sun came up on a recent day.
