The theme of this year’s Fall Flower Show at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens is “125 Years Of Wonder.” It celebrates over a century of the conservatory’s splendid history.
I spent an afternoon exploring the show designed by Laura Schoch with the garden railroad display designed by Jordyn Melino. Take some time and get down to see the show, it’s wonderful.
Here’s my look at the show.
Large purple disbud mums are part of the display in the Sunken Garden Room.
Henry Phipps is the centerpiece of the display in the Palm Court.

Nicola Dicicco (left) asked to have his picture taken with this scary looking zombie in the Serpentine Room.
Huge disbud mums, which have only one large flower, are on display in the show.
This gravestone celebrates Night of the Living Dead. The film was shot north of Pittsburgh.
The garden railroad is always a hit at Phipps.
The formality of the Broderie Room makes it a favorite for brides.
The East Room has a famous children’s story as the theme.
There are lots of historic photos in the show.
