It’s that time again, the 37th Annual Duquesne Light Home and Garden Show at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center is the best way to get ready for the upcoming gardening season.

See Everybody Gardens editor Doug Oster at the Duquesne Light Home and Garden Show.

See Everybody Gardens editor Doug Oster at the Duquesne Light Home and Garden Show.

I’ll be there every day speaking on the Green Thumb Stage. It’s on the first floor in the back, you can’t miss it. Check out the Everybody Gardens booth right in front of the stage where I’ll be answering gardening questions too.

Everyone who comes to see me speak gets a free packet of ‘Chocolate Stripes’ tomato seeds. This heirloom is a true show stopper. The fruit feature dark red flesh with greenish striping. It’s one of the tastiest tomatoes, offering a complex, rich, earthy flavor and is also blight resistant. It’s become one of my favorites.

Enter to win a trip to Fallingwater with me. It includes a special in depth tour of the house which allows for photographs to be taken (usually not allowed). We’ll also get a tour of the grounds from Fallingwater’s horticulturalist Ann Talarek. Afterward we’ll all have lunch together at the Fallingwater Cafe as part of the prize.

At each presentation I’ll also be raffling off Flower Carpet Roses or beautiful Tropicanna canna bulbs courtesy of Anthony Tesselaar International. One winner will get a voucher for three roses or nine cannas.

I’ll also be signing people up for my Seed of the Month Club during the show. Three new subscribers will be chosen at random to win me! I’ll come to the winner’s home, do a one hour garden consultation and then take you out to a nice lunch.

Here’s my speaking schedule-

 SUNDAY 3/11 12 noon and 3pm

Hope to see you there!
